


Robson Hall, University of Manitoba, Faculty of Law department was looking for a means of integrating the most advanced videoconference technology into their proposed new Distance Education Classroom.
Considering the number of professors utilizing the room, each with varying comfort levels with regards to technology, one of the key components of designing this system was the underlying goal of simplicity of use. While ease of use was important, it was not at the expense of functionality. This was achieved through the programming of the control system, which controls every aspect of the room, in two separate modes. Classroom mode is utilized during traditional in-class presentations and Videoconferencing mode during distance education applications.
In both modes all system components are controlled from the 10.4” instructors touch panel. Inland AV consulted with representatives of the University’s Audio Visual Department as well as the Faculty of Law to achieve a functional user-friendly system.
