Community Futures
Videoconferencing Network

The Community Futures Network consists of 13 individual autonomous Community Futures Development Corporations and a Provincial Association with offices located throughout Saskatchewan. They provide a variety of community economic development initiatives and entrepreneurial programs, including: business counselling, loan programs and business information to communities.

The Community Futures Partners of Saskatchewan believes that each location required a videoconference system. This would provide the ability for regional communities to participate in instructor based seminars, meetings, training and related issues pertaining to businesses. Tom Kennedy, CFPS, Director was looking for a turn-key solution and approached Inland AV for consultation. The system needed to be easy to operate, have identical components in each location, and fit within their budget.

The systems design consultation specified the Tandberg 880 MXP videoconference system, a Hitachi CPX 300 data projector, 96" projection screens and a TOA audio system.

The main obstacles were the installations. Coordinating the installations across 13 locations throughout Saskatchewan was a challenge. The Inland AV offices worked together to develop an installation plan that efficiently installed the systems in the regional Community Futures offices.
