Henry Baker Hall:
Construction Underway

Henry Baker Hall (Regina City Hall) is undergoing its' first major renovations since the original 1976 construction and we have been following the progress of the project. The December 2007, Inland Broadcaster provided an overview of the project and January saw the demolition of the original room.

The picture on the top right of the page shows that the construction has begun. It is of interest to note that a false floor is in place. This allows for the cables to be run and additional cables can be installed in the future easily and cost effectively.

The new audiovisual system will include:

  • Two 6,000 ANSI Lumen data & video projectors
  • Wireless conference microphone and voting system for 28 people
  • Three camera system for broadcast & recording of the proceedings
  • 15" LCD screens for the mayor, each councilor and clerk
  • Ceiling mounted document camera
  • The Clerk controls the entire system: audio, video, data, lighting, cameras
  • All signals are converted to video and fed to the local Regina community television and media outlets

We look forward to reporting on the conclusion of the renovations in the next Inland Broadcaster.
