Staff from every Inland AV location traveled to attend the InfoComm08 Information Communications Marketplace exhibition. The Las Vegas Convention Center hosted over 35,000 delegates and exhibitors for three hot days.
Attending this annual show is crucial according to Glenn Corthey, Inland AV sales manager "It affords us the opportunity to see the latest technologies before they are released to the public, keeping Inland AV on the cutting edge"
Joe Ng, Sharp Electronics of Canada Ltd. (shown on the right with the new 108" Full HD 1080p Sharp LCD monitor) was thrilled to demonstrate the latest in LCD monitors. The world's largest commercially available LCD Monitor, it features Sharp's Advanced Super View LCD Panel manufactured at Sharp's Kameyama Plant No. 2, the first facility in the world to produce panels from eighth-generation glass substrates. The success of this development means that it is now possible to produce LCDs in all screen size classes ranging from 19-inch class (18-61/64" Diagonal) to super-large sizes.
Tandberg, a gold sponsor of the InfoComm08 event displayed the Tandberg T1 instant telepresence system. Tandberg Canadian Senior Solutions Architect, Kieron Quigley, (pictured on the right) demonstrates the T1 system with an enormous 65" custom high definition (up to 1080p) LCD screen. The system is ideal for executive offices or small telepresence studios as the system is designed for optimal eye contact and ideal screen height.
AMX introduced a pre-packaged digital signage solution, Inspired-2-Go Education. Inspired-2-Go Education significantly reduces the cost and turnaround time associated with initial implementation by providing pre-packaged layouts containing graphics and animations specifically designed for the K-12 and higher education markets. The layouts also enable administrators to customize and change the design and content distributed to their displays whenever they want, and with very little training. Announcements, event calendars, menus and video clips, news headlines and local weather can all be displayed. Because the solution is networked and enables dynamic content, organizations can share the most up-to-date information with students and staff via displays installed in cafeterias, libraries, lobby/reception areas, classrooms, student centers, break areas and gyms.
Crestron unveiled 70 new products at InfoComm08. Pictured on the right is the RoomView® Express software. The application includes a help desk, room scheduling and asset management functions. The software enables facility-wide monitoring and control of presentation systems and room devices, event scheduling such as room lighting, climate & AV control, asset management, links to live webcams and report generation.
