Grant McMechan:
as a part of the Systems Design team, Grant provides a unique view of the AV industry

Technology moves forward at an ever quickening pace. It was just a short while ago that the idea of monitoring your AV system from a central IT station was impressive. Then devices such as projectors could send messages to the IT centre to provide lamp hours and service advisories for lamp & filter service. This progressed to devices sending emails to provide imperative information. Now you can control your AV system (and HVAC & security system) from your iPhone!
You can be away from the office and confirm you have turned off the videoconferencing system, lights and closed the window shades. You can adjust the temperature prior to your arrival or enable the Auto Answer feature on your videoconference system for calling in from remote locations. There are many more control functions for consideration.
Inland AV supports AMX and Crestron products and we can implement the solution that best suits your organization.
AMX Virtual Keypad is a unique, design savvy, simple web-based user interface to control, automate and manage devices in an AMX control system via Apple’s iPhone, iPod touch or a PC. Virtual Keypad is simple to implement using standard NetLinx commands to label buttons, receive button push/release and
manage feedback for buttons and text display.
Crestron Mobile for iPhone talks directly to the control system without any third-party software or external servers. On the road, iPhone communicates with the Crestron control system over a 3G or Edge cellular network.
