

Blue Blazer tournament winners

The Regina Tor Hill Golf Course hosted the Inland AV 13th annual Blue Blazer tournament on August 19, 2008.
This years tournament included nine teams from the Regina and Saskatoon area. The Saskatoon players had an early 8:30 am start as they traveled on a chartered bus south to Regina. Ralph Niekamp, Inland AV, Saskatoon General Manager, noted that "The camaraderie was evident as we informally chatted about business and in particular the great economic activity that Saskatoon is enjoying".
The Texas scramble Blue Blazer teed off at noon under sunny skies, blistering 35˚C temperature and winds gusting from 50 - 70 kilometers per hour. The winning team of Larry Christie, SaskPower, Darrel Caudle, Sheraton Cavalier Saskatoon and Jay Ross, RCMP were as hot as the afternoon sun shooting 65. The winning team, pictured on the right, win the Blue Blazer! Actually they receive a clothing gift certificate and are encouraged to pick out a blue blazer. Other winners included the ladies longest drive; Sara Frietag, SaskPower, men's longest drive; Ralph Neikamp, Inland AV and closest to the pin; Dale Seabrook, SIAST.
Tim Wiest, Inland AV, Regina General Manager was the MC for the evening. "The tournament was once again a great success, its great to see so many of our partners return year after year, share a few laughs, talk a little shop, all in all, enjoy a day together. It's one of the best ways I know how to say........Thank You!"
Inland AV Winnipeg was represented by Kim Werbowski, Inland AV Co-President & CEO and Chuck Gluting, Controller. Chuck has attended six Blue Blazer tournaments over the years and said that "I enjoy the opportunity to play in the tournament, as you get to catch up with our Saskatchewan clients." To cap off the evening, Kim Werbowski was serenaded with a chorus of Happy Birthday and was presented with a surprise birthday cake.
