the Golden Banjo
thank you Winnipeg Folk Festival!
Inland AV was presented a Golden Banjo award from the Winnipeg Folk Festival in recognition of the long standing relationship that the Winnipeg Folk Festival and Inland AV have enjoyed. Robert Collings (pictured on the right) accepted the award on behalf of Inland AV on warm and sunny Sunday, July 13, 2008.
The Winnipeg Folk Festival inaugural event was in 1974 as part of the Winnipeg's 100th anniversary celebrations. The festival grew steadily over the years and by 1997 the attendance had increased to the point that image magnification of the evening main stage was needed. Inland AV has been returning to Bird's Hill Park every year since, providing large video screens, video projectors, cameras and switchers.
Being a part of an outdoor festival always brings challenges. The heat, wind, rain and bugs have all played a role over the years and Inland AV staff have always worked hard to overcome the issues of the day.
Inland AV is proud of the involvement with the Winnipeg Folk Festival helping deliver the main stage artists to the ever increasing audience..
